Geocache Description:

A cache event on Saturday September 18th at Snowdon Summit Cafe, with 2 ways of getting to the summit. Easy by Snowdon Mountain Railway or Hard by Shanksies Pony (walking). With both groups meeting at the summit cafe for the cache event.

Option One, The Easy Way ("Lazy Rackers") will be taking the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the event. Leaving from the SMR station at Llanderis on the A4086, at about 11.00hrs (TIME TO BE CONFIRMED) arriving at the summit approximately 1hr later. With a stay of 30min (during which the 2 groups will rendezvous to hold the cache event) before the return journey. Cost of a return ticket will be ADULTS £14, CHILDREN £9, under 3yrs of age free (provided they are sat on a knee),a saving of £6 per adult and £5 per child. This option is dependant on enough interest to form a group booking (Minimum of 15 persons), Coordinator for this group (and responsible for making the booking with SMR) Mancunian Pyrocacher. A booking for the group will be made on August 1st, with a last date for anyone wishing to join the group of September 1st (allowing for final confirmation with SMR).All persons wishing to take this option please post a note, and contact Mancunian Pyrocacher thru his profile with the no of tickets required, and no of Adults and Children in the party. Tickets to be payed for on the day of the event to the group coordinator. All persons in the group will be required to be at SMR station by 10.15hrs (TIME TO BE CONFIRMED), to allow for the collection of payment (there is a requirement for groups to be at the station 30 minutes before departure).

Option Two, the Hard WAY,("High Striders") will be walking up to Snowdon Summit, from Pen y Pass car park (all group members are advised to be there by 08.30hrs to insure a parking place), departing at 09.00hrs prompt. Taking approximately 3 hours to walk up to the summit. With a ETA of approximately 12.00hrs to allow for a rendezvous, with the Easy Way Group to hold the cache event in the summit cafe. Departure from summit to be agreed by group members. Coordinator for this group will be Pyoung1s, who can be reached thru his profile. Requirements for this group will be the ability to make a return visit to the summit by foot. Group members are advised to make sure that they have appropriate footwear and are advised to carry waterproofs with them.

WARNING! ALL PERSONS IN THE HARD WAY GROUP ("High Striders"), TRAVEL ON SNOWDON AT THEIR OWN RISK! I'm sorry about having to add this, but I have had several emails about the liability issue regarding any accidents.

Have a look at Kit List, found by the "High Striders" coordinator.

As there has been interest about camping in the location a coordinator will hopefully be found for this group.

Currently a search is going on for a establishment, to allow both groups to rendezvous at, after the return journeys of both groups.

The Easy group option is suitable for those with restricted abilities, as there is suitable facility's at the summit. Would anyone who is attending who is restricted to a wheelchair, please inform me by August 1st, as SMR, has suitable carriage's for wheelchair users, but will need advanced notice to make sure that the carriage is available for the time we have booked.
