How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The cache is NOT at the coordinates listed above. They are for the trail head at the Pinecliff Sanctuary. You will need to solve the puzzle below to get the coordinates for this 50 cal ammo box cache. The cache is in the Sanctuary.
Usually having a youngster on a cache hunt can be a handicap. For this puzzle cache, however, they are an advantage. Familiarity with the train characters created by the Rev. W. Awdry in his The Railway Series of books is needed.
There is limited parking on the street near the trailhead. Please do not block the residents' driveways. The cache is a little distance off the trails of Pinecliff Sanctuary. Here's a map for your reference. Please note that the boardwalk portion of the Sanctuary is handicap accessible although the cache is not. The Sanctuary is a little buggy so don't forget the insect repellent.
The cache is stocked with ERTL die cast metal trains from the Thomas the Tank Engine franchise. If you trade, please be considerate of your fellow 'cachers and only take one of the trains and try to trade equitably. If you can stick to the Thomas theme, all the better. Fellow travelers are always welcome, be they Travel Bugs, Geocoins, Where's George? bills, etc.
Due to the format of the cache page, it is recommended that you print out the cache description in "Landscape" format.
