This micro cache is placed by the old Hinckley Library. The
actual library was moved recently to a larger location. The old
library is believed to be haunted. There was an actual Ghost Cam
set up in the building awhile back but is no longer operating. The
Hinckley Historical Society has since moved in.
- This old Hinckley Library was built in 1845 and belonged to
Vernon Stouffer of the Stouffer food company. It became a public
library in 1973 and stories of the place being haunted became
well-known. The ghosts of a man and woman were seen on the stairs,
a workman encountered a figure in the basement and others have felt
and seen strange things like objects moving about on their own and
various apparitions. The ghosts are believed to be those of Dr.
Nelson Wilcox and his sister Rebecca, who lived in a cabin at the
site before the house was built.
This should be a fairly easy find. This is “D”s first attempt at
hosting a cache. Please bring your own pencil or pen. There is no
room for trade items, only pennies.
Please be courteous of the surroundings, there is no need to dig
or move anything.
Please keep everything undisturbed. Please put the cache back
exactly as you found it.
Thank you and good luck!
