Romanticka cache pri pohadkovom zamku / Romantic cache next to the fairy-tale water chateau

Podla inej teorie dali meno zamku cihly:

V roce 1945 objekt zkonfiskoval stát a zrídil zde detskou zotavovnu.

Místnosti v zámku jsou zkrášleny štukem a vybaveny starým nábytkem, kachlovými kamny, sbírkou obrazu, cínovým nádobím, sklenenými poháry, porcelánem i hudebními nástroji. Mimorádne zajímavá je pánská pracovna, barokní jídelna s bohatou štukovou výzdobou i puvabný francouzský salon. V pameti mnohému utkví karikatura Ošklivé vévodkyne Markéty Tyrolské a Korutanské zvané Pyskatá od francouzského rytce Gillese Demarteaua.

K zajímavostem patrí i zlatý poklad.

Informacie o otvaracich hodinach najdete tu.

The cache is hidden next to the Romantic Renaissance water chateau Cervena (Red) Lhota.

This charming chateau was built on a location once occupied by a fortress, built during colonization of the area in the 12th and 13th centuries. It's located in beatiful nature of south Bohemia.Rebuilt to quasi-renaissance in 20th century.

Historical and architectonic development:

The earliest records of the castle mention the Podlavicka family from Lhota in the second half of the 14th century (1382). Another important date in the history of Cervena Lhota was the year 1530, when the fortress was sold by Divis Boubinsky of Ujezd to Jan Kaba of Rybnany. The latter invited the Italien architect Giovanni Spazio to reconstruct the uncomfortable fortress into a small but charming renaissance chateau. Soon after however, in 1597, the Kabas sold the chateau to the Rut family from Dirna. Following the defeat of the Czech nobility in the Battle of White Mountain (1620), and despite the fact that this protestant family did not participate in the revolt, they later lost all their property and were never able to reclaim it.
Between 1620 and 1621 Cervena Lhota was occupied by the imperial commander Baltazar Marradas and the following year (1622) the entire dominion was bought by the Italian Antonio Bruccio. Since he died childless, in 1638 his property again reverted to the royal chamber, from which it was bought in 1641 by Vilem Slavata of Chlum and Kosumberk, lord of nearby Jindrichuv Hradec.
In the second half of the 17th century, the descendants of the very same Slavata family further reconstructed Cervena Lhota. They built a forward tower with a baroque portal and had the chateau rooms decorated with frescos and elaborate stucco work. After the Slavata family name died out, the dominion was taken over by Windisgratzs. The dominion declined remarkably under their mismanagement and finally they were forced to sell it to the free-born lords of Gudenus. During the mastership of Josef Petr of Gudenus, Cervena Lhota suffered froma fire and the chateau was partly damaged.
The last owners of the Cervena Lhota dominion were the Schonburgs. Though permanently settled in Vienna, this princely family, whose members made their names as diplomats, politicians and soldiers, looked after Cervena Lhota carefully. In the course of years the Schonburgs had the chateau remodelled twice. The first time was in the 19th century in the then popular style of romantic Gothic. The second rebuilding was carried out in 1910 when the German architect Humber Walcher of Moltheim attempted to return the chateau to its original Renaissance appearance. The Schonburg family resided at Cervena Lhota until 1945. The chateau is 4-flier two-storey building built on a rock in the middle of a lake. Formerly it was a small fortress on a rock above a stream. Later, in the 17th century, the stream was dammed a and there arose a lake with an island. The enter into the chateau is along a stone-bridge, which has replaced ancestoral drawbridge. In the axis of the bridge there is a tower with a baroque portal (1641). Through a porte-cochere it's possible to enter on a small yard. Vaulted ground-floor of this part is rest of the fortress. Arc quasi-renaissance gables from 1903- 1912 determinate the character of the object.

You should find the informations about the opening hours here.

I wish you a nice and romantic hunt :-)
