Geocache Description:

The Pioneer Saloon Cache
The Pioneer Saloon, built in 1913, is one of the oldest bars in the state of Nevada. Inside this historic old saloon you'll find bullet holes still in the walls, original poker tables, an 1860s cherrywood bar & when it gets chilly an old potbelly stove heats the place.

The Pioneer Saloon is a known haunted saloon and has been featured on the History and the Discovery channel in specials dealing with haunted buildings.

To log this cache you will need to sign the log book that is kept in the black ammo can behind the bar. Just let the bartender know that you're a geocacher and she'll get the can for you.
The saloon is open 7 days a week. The operating hours can vary, it depends on how busy they are. You may want to check to see if they're open before driving out. Their phone number is 702-874-9362

I enjoy this rustic old bar so much that on October 3, 2004 I hosted an event cache here called Renegades, Rebels, & Rogues GCK3H0 because I wanted to share this place with other geocachers. I hid this cache because I wanted to continue sharing this place.

DIRECTIONS - Make your way to Jean, Nevada which is located about 35 miles South of Las Vegas. From here take Nevada Route 161 heading West. In about 7 miles you'll enter the town of Goodsprings, Nevada. You can't miss the Pioneer Saloon. It's the first building you encounter on your right.
