Geocache Description:

At this place a big battle took place October 20:th 1565 during the Nordic War (Nordiska sjuårskriget) 1563 - 1570.

During the 16:th and 17:th century there were several wars between Sweden and Denmark. The county of Halland was still danish.
The swedish army under command of Jacob Hästesko with 12 000 men met the Danish field marshall Daniel Rantzau (See geocache: "Diversa Tempore Diverse Fata" - GCJ7KM)and his 8 000 men at this place where it was possible for an army to cross the little river Högvadsån. The swedish troops had to retreat after a furious fight with the better equiped and trained danish professional soldiers.
When standing at the top of the little hill close your eyes and dream back 440 years. Almoust 4 000 soldiers from both sides were more or less massacred in the battle and buried in anonymus field graves.
