Geocache Description:

First commercial Bessemer converter in the world

ENG

Modern steel production started on a commercial scale here in Edsken. The owner and founder of Sandvikens Jerverk AB, now part of Sandvik AB, Göran Fredrik Göransson, bought a license to use Henry Bessemer's patent for blowing oxygen into molten iron and converting it to steel. These remains have a greater significance than can be first imagined.

SVE
