Geocache Description:

Good beginner cache, drive to Prison Pond if Pond Road open, short hike uphill through field from Prison Pond at end of Pond Road. Cache short way into forest from edge of forest/field.

Access the site via Pond Road (N 43 30.099 W072 26.134)off of Marton Road in Windsor, VT. Park at a safe pull off along Pond Road or go all the way to the Prison Pond parking area(N 43 30.066 W 072 26.694.) Initial moderate ascent, then slight ascent hike through field. Cache contains small trinkets and pet toys and is in clear plastic container inside a "serpent tree" a short distance into woods at north end of field. Nice view of Mt. Ascutney to the south. Area supports variety of wildlife, owls active during dark hours, deer, turkey, coyote abundant. This is a popular hunting area, please dress appropriately during hunting season and be aware of your pet's location. The land belongs to the State of Vermont, Forest, Parks and Recreation.
