Updated 12/9/07: Cache has been moved about 75 feet South of original placement.
About 75 feet South of the cache you'll be standing next to the creek looking at two trees on your right that fell and extend over the creek. The cache is located under the rocks at the end of the lower tree on the East (opposite) side of the creek.
An ammo can DEEP into Nisene Marks State Park. This is a wonderful, long hike to the end of one of the trails. When placed, I didn't see anybody once I got off the main fire road so it is very serene and a spot not often visited.
When you get to the final spot you'll be rewarded with your own personal waterfall to enjoy. During the summer months it will be great spot to get under the falls and cool off after the long hike (I don't recommend doing that in the winter months but to each his own).
The terrain is a solid three stars not for elevation (it's pretty minor), but for a combination of the distance and at times some slippery trails. You'll cross the creek about 5 times (ankle-deep and one step across a rock gets you there - no need to get wet) as the trail criss-crosses the bed of the creek. If you lose the trail at the creek bed, just look across or upstream a few feet and you'll see it pick up.
Plan on leaving the little ones at home for this one.
GPS signals in here are rare, but using a trail map and the clue should get you there easily.
There's a great trail map here.
The cache itself contains the usual goodies, but no kiddie toys as I don't expect any small ones to make this hike.
