How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Being an international airport, this may be your actual port of entry. It is more likely, however, that you'll just drive by here on highway 20 when approaching Port Townsend from the West, or on highway 19 when coming from the South. Therefore, let it be your port of entry too.

To legally enter Port Townsend, you'll need some outside help to clear you through customs.

Customs procedures:

  • Go to the above coordinates.
  • Stand on the grass beside the tarmac, not on the tarmac. Look up, and you'll see the camera. Please take a few steps toward the camera, away from the tarmac. This will improve the picture quality
  • Hold up a sign, a GPS or just your hands, to identify yourself as geocachers.
  • Call someone and let them watch the webcam on the cache page on their own computer. The picture on the page updates every 5 minutes or so, but the update will be visible only when you refresh the cache page.
  • Ask them to save the picture.
  • When the camera is stuck, call the Port of Port Townsend at (360) 385-2323, or send a friendly message to, and let them know.
  • Welcome to Port Townsend!

Congrats for the FTF go to Belleterre!

When the camera is stuck, I'll accept any other picture with you in it, taken at the cache location.
