Geocache Description:

Pushchair, and even car friendly to within a few feet of the cache. Large car park within a few hundred feet.

This cache has to be a virtual because of the nature of the site. This was a village that was evacuated in 1943 to allow for the army to move into the area for their gunnery ranges. The intention after the war was to allow the villagers to move back in, but this never occurred. So we are now left with the remains of a village, stuck in a time warp.

I found out about this place a few years ago on a Radio 4 programme, and visited it soon after and was fascinated by it. If it is a place you have not visited yet then it is a must!!!
The village is still only open on certain days, and this information can be found by clicking the following link, which also gives a little history about the location.
(visit link)

To score the cache, please e mail me the letter within the white circle, and the cost per week of a phone!!

Now spend a little time wandering.
