Geocache Description:

THE "HILO TSUNAMI MUSEUM" has a webcam on top of their building overlooking 'Hilo Bay' pointing at the 'Coconut Point Light'

  • The the best way to get your picture taken and saved is to find a spot to the left of the lighthouse (facing) the street so you can see the museum camera clearly as the palm trees might interfere with a clear view. (see pictures below)
  • This is a collaborative effort that gives you, with the help of another person with internet access, the chance to log the find. Hold your G.P.S. away or up to show your actual position along the wall, or better yet on the boulevard/medium beside the lamp post.
  • If you haven't visited the "Tsunami Museum" now is the time to see the destruction caused locally. Also link onto their website for further links to earthquake and tsunami locations around the world that are constantly being updated.

Try this link to Volcanic and Seismic Hazards on the 'Island of Hawai'i: Tsunamis....

  • Small note on cache maintenance:If there is a problem during my away time "KonaGold" will look after it.
