Geocache Description:

This 4 stage multi cache in located along the Stillwater River near Old Town Maine. There was a lot of activity along this river at the turn of the last century.

The first leg is at the site of a steam powered saw mill that was built in 1870. It operated under different owners until the late twenties. At one point even sawing boards to make the famous Old Town Canoes. In 1937 it was converted and operated as the Hume Pipe Co. making concrete drainage pipe. The plant closed for good in the late forties for the last time. When you find the first 3 legs it will only have coordinates to the next phase. No logs or trades as these are small. The final container is a 30 cal. ammo can, well hidden. Please replace all clues as well as they were hidden originally. I am not going to go into great detail at this time on the first three clues are as I want this to be a challenge for seekers. If it proves too difficult then I may reveal more later. You will find a picnic area along your travels if you choose to stop. You will also be driving between some of the legs. For the most part there is ample parking at all locations too. During spring you may find a few damp spots as well. Good luck. Do to extremly jumpy GPS readings at the posted location of the first leg due to a bowl shaped area I will tell you to look in the obvious spot for your next coordinates. Do NOT believe your GPS as it will have you going in circles This clue is VERY well hidden, but in plain site. I suggest only using the hint as a last resort. It is there!
