Geocache Description:

Interstate 25 "Exit 242" go EAST on RT.165 about 5 miles turn right on Tunnel Springs RD. Go 2 miles to the second parking area Where you will pick up the very obvious North Crest Trail #130 "not marked" @ 35 17.487 106 26.372 The Trail will take you along the side of the mountain with great views, Total evelation gain 425 feet, about 2.25 miles to the cache, [a very enjoyable hike.] [Mrs Manzano Favorite.] OK for kids about 10 & older

We called this cache CakeWalk, because it is very easy compared to the other two caches in the north sandias.

Aqua Sarca Cache by the Bice brothers rated 3.0 and North Sandias MRP by Ganelo 2.5
COMPARED to their terrain ratings we should have rated "CakeWalk" a 1.5

I have added TWO waypoints for someone new to the trail.
your first Waypoint is @ ABOUT 35 17.775 106 25.399 here the trail has turned right headed up the side a small canyon.
Your next Waypoint is above the canyon @ ABOUT 35 17.397 106 25.415 and less then a Quarter Mile from the cache.
This is where I was going to hide the cache.
However Mrs Manzano decided we should go, "Just a Little Futher".

Continue on the trail until it junctions with a trail @ 35 17.195 106 25.467 Go left "down" this trail a few hundered feet.
The cache is off to the right along side a small stump, under a dead pine tree. @ 6,825 feet

Container is 3.5 by 5.5 inches painted camo with the Official GeoCaching Sticker attached.
Contents LogBook & Pencil, clip, GeoCaching NM. Pin,and car.
After finding the cache.
GO BACK THE WAY YOU CAME UP.

NOT RECCOMENDED;
HOWEVER AFTER hiding the cache we took the shorter way down. We CONTINUED on the Cest Trail until where it Junctions with Ojo del Orno Route Trail @ 35 16.890 106 26.097
We took this very NASTY Steep Trail Slipping and Sliding all the way down to the parking area. [NO KIDS PLEASE]
Mrs Manzano will never hike this 8/10th of a mile trail again.
I am sure a few of you will go up after the cache this way.

NOTE
IF you are hiking south on the crest trail to the MRP Cache or beyond and Hike up the "Ojo del Orno Route" from Tunnel Springs, you will shorten your hike by about 3.3 miles.
