Hiking along Ward Road, you transition from grassy hills and
oaks to forest, then finally to deep redwood forest. Once you get
past the heavily traveled biking areas, you probably won't see
another soul.
This is indeed an outpost because it isn't along Ward Road. The
cache is somewhat mis-named, but I think I'll just leave it that
way. If you come in from Skyline along Ward Road, it is just a
short way from the junction with Hickory Oaks trail.
