Bumpy backroads will lead you to these spectacular views. Navigate the maze to find the cache. Great location for a picnic.
While placing this cache, a gigantic thunderstorm rolled in over our heads. Severe gusts of wind threatened to blow Spike the Wonder Dog off the mountain. She certainly did not like the loud cracks of thunder! In the interest of self-preservation, we placed the cache quickly and immediately began our descent down the mountain. We did not have a lot of time to let the GPS settle, so the coordinates may be a little bit off, but we have no doubt that any cacher would be able to discover the hiding spot of the ammo box! As we were leaving, we spotted a lightening strike near Sugarloaf lookout, which is the location of another cache.
Warning to cache seekers: this cache is accessible by vehicle, however it should not be attempted by beginning drivers as the roads are extremely worn and rutted, with slate and shale eagerly looking to slash your tires. The return trip down the mountain is very steep and hard on your brakes, hence HOT BRAKES! Note, you will not need to descend any of the cliffs to locate this cache!
