A straightforward cache and dash.....
The location of the cache and the distance from parking make
this an “easy find”.... so, I’ve placed another “easy-find” cache
nearby to justify your trip
“Bessie Dunlop- Witch o' Dalry” , and , against my better
judgement, I've turned them into puzzles.
(I'm sorry..I'll never do it again.......honest)
To find the tantalising Tupperware, park at N55°40.566
W004°42.676
(Check the times that the car park gets locked, you can always park
at the nearby hotel, or outside the gates.)
History
The Mill
There has been a mill on the site since the 14th century, set up by
the monks of Kilwinning Abbey. The Present mill was erected in 1640
and rebuilt in 1880 after being damaged by fire. The Garnock waters
power a 6-metre diameter breast-shot wheel that drives the French
burr millstones through cast iron gearing. The traditional methods
of producing flour can be traced and the wheel turns when
possible.

The Cache
The cache is located at:-
N55°40.abc W004°42.def
To find the cache you’ll need to gather some information,
abc ….Look at the benches along the riverside walk, most
are dedicated to a member or relative of the Museum Trust’s family
…. abc = the number of years Mr.Frew spent on this earth * 12.
d. Facing the Museum entrance, count the number of window
frames on the Mill building. (Ignore the adjoining cottages)
ef. Add the MGW of the access bridge + 4 .
Please replace the cache as found. ( i.e vertical)
The Museum is open most days, and whilst I can’t vouch for the
contents or value for money (its been at least 10 years since I
visited) they do have an excellent wee tearoom that is separate
from the museum. (And they make a fuss of my wee pup.)
Alternatively, the hotel across the river does bar meals and
Guinness ….
Coffee or beer …hmmm…. tricky choice.
