Geocache Description:

This is an easy cache. Take the family on a 1 1/2 mile hike. Park at N 42 07.897 W 091 22.935. Almost no bush-wacking. The park trails take you almost all the way there.

Located within the Matsell Bridge Natural Area and is managed by the Linn County Conservation Board and contains over 1,700 acres. Matsell Bridge is named for George W. Matsell, a New York City chief of police from 1845-1857. Legend has it that Matsell befriended some American Indians visiting New York City. They appreciated his kindness and invited him to visit them in Iowa. When he arrived, Matsell fell in love with the land and eventually built a mansion near the present-day equestrian camping area.

This is a favorite spot for our scouts to hike in and camp. This geocache is very close to our favorite "remote" camp spot.

This cache began with: Small paint bottle, turtle, Swedish Kronor, Matag Coins, Memory Stick, Maple Leaf(I picked this up in a geocache in Sweden), Swedish Pencil, Lock, Hot wheel car, Garage opener, Spiderman squirtgun, Flasing bracelets, Sun glasses, 365 Ways to eat Chocloate.
