Geocache Description:

When Motala's hydro power station was built in 1921, the water level of Motala ström was raised by four meters as a consequence. The lake you are looking at when you have the cache behind you is conceiling what was once the Hårstorp farm. A bit further away lay a couple of mills and blacksmith's workshops which were also drowned. The large Vättern salmon lost it's breeding grounds and is now extinct. The small island that lies in the middle of the lake is said to be standing on a pillar. On your left is Charlottenborg castle, built in 1652. Originally the building had three stories, but after an experiment by the owner where he made an unfortunate attempt to build an indoor fish dam the castle got its present design with two stories. Motala museum is in the Charlottenborg castle today.
