WRITE SHOP ROBERT: Well, this Cache was fun while it lasted. I came by today with my brother and discovered that the dead tree where the Cache was hidden is well along the way to rotting. The spot on the tree where I hid the Cache has colapsed, and I couldn't find the Cache anywhere. It may have rolled onto the trail and gotten picked up, or it may have been burried when the log gave way. We looked for a good 30 minutes, but were unable to come up with it. Well, there are plenty of other Caches in the area now. Thanks to everyone who came to find this Cache over the years. I've enjoyed all the logs I've received. Thank you. Good night to this one.

Geocache Description:

This cache was hidden after a morning of Pancakes, GeoCaches, Good Company and a Letterbox

After a pancake breakfast at the West Point Inn with "BKT" and "runnerfam", I poked around in the car and came up with all the things needed to put together this small cache. I thought I had done enough hiking for the day, but after a short rest I found a little more in me, so I decided to see what Van Wyck Meadow was all about and stashed this cache along the way. I had a lot of trouble getting a signal to settle down, so look for something arching along your hike.

To see more about what else was hidden today, check out WWW.LETTERBOXING.ORG and look for my first Letterbox, called "Satisfaction". After I got home I also discovered that there is a Letterbox titled "Van Wyck Meadow", so if you're interested you may as well continue your hike all the way there. Even if you don't want to look for it, the hike is a nice one and there are plenty of directions to turn once you get to the Meadow.
