Geocache Description:

Visit some of the major landmarks of the Ile d'Oléron. It is not possible to trade items.

New hiding place! (originally hidden: 28.10.05)
Bring your own pen with you!
Station 1:

Start at (N 45° 50.766 W 001° 09.768=le viaduc))
Determine the length of the viaduc!
A.027 m This means the length is 1027m or 2027m or.....
The bridge is one of the longest in Europe. 45 piles hold the bridge up 23 m above the ocean.

Station 2:
Drive to (N 45° 58,466' W 001° 14,363'=boyardville plage)
Count the watchtowers of the Fort=B (Is it 1, 2 or 4?)! You might need a binocular.
It was Napoleon who initiated the building in 1801. But because of a strong drift and tide, the fundament was finished in 1848, the fort itself in 1857.You'll probably know it from a game show on France2.

Station 3:
Drive to (N 46° 02,758' W 001° 24,374')
Count the black rings of the lighthouse=C!
It was build 1834-1836. The fundaments are diametre=18 metres and 3 metres high. The stones came from the quarry 'Crazannes', wich also is the origin of the stones for the Statue of liberty. From its top you can see the 'Bout du Monde'.

Station 4:
Drive to (N 45° 53,847' W 001° 17,139')
How many brothers were there=D?
(not a special place, but close to the final!)

FINAL: Search for the cache at:
(N 45° 53,xxx' W 001° 17,yyy')
with xxx=700+A*30+B*2
and yyy=C*D*10-B
