Am Kiefernberg is located in the Pine Mountain Open Space near the Ridgefield / Danbury boarder. The cache is a 50 cal ammo can.
------------------------ UPDATE 10/23/08 HUNTING: Hemlock Hills and Pine Mountain Open Spaces are closed to the public for firearms hunting from Nov 19 through Dec 23, 2008, except during the Thanksgiving weekend. The town will probably hold such a hunting season again in 2009. . Bow hunting is permitted in adjoining Bennett's Pond State Park from Sept 15, 2008, through Jan 31, 2009. During this time the park is not closed to the public, but hikers are advised to wear bright colors. --------------- There are some steep sections to this hike, but our 4 year old was able to hike it.
Please park at N41 21.166 W73 30.090.
Trail head is back down the road a hundred feet at N41 21.207 W73 30.065.
A 1.25 mile hike to the cache. Enjoy the wonderful views along the way. Stay on the yellow trail all the way - it will take you to within 125 feet of the cache. No need to bushwhack.

If you are more adventurous, park at N41 19.730 W73 28.837 and enjoy a lengthy hike to the cache.
