A good pair of boots recommend as terrain is wild & can be very wet under foot.
Round trip is about 7Km & should take about 2 Hrs
Park Just before the Muirhead Reservoir on the A760 at coordinates N55°46.219 W4°46.131. Once parked head along the road towards Largs and you will shortly come to a gate on your left which is the start of the track to the reservoir. Follow the track round the edge & across the overflow. Continue following the track until you have came through an open gate. You are now on the correct side of the fence & your destination lies roughly up to your left.
The Cache lies on the other side of Blaeloch hill & looks on to the crash site of a Fairey Firefly. (The little Info I Know about this flight can be Found in the cache log book)My preferred route is to head first towards a cairn
N55°45.668 W4°47.854 & then head over the top of BlaeLoch hill towards the Cache.
If you visit the wreckage site please resist any temptation for a souvenir as the wreck is still the property of the Crown and as with all these crash sites the wreckage has become a kind of monument to the men who lost their life's
