The Land of the Lost
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
A kid friendly cache in Cranbury Park (gates locked at sunset). The coordinates in the header are NOT the cache site, and have nothing to do with the search. Complete the quiz below to find the actual location.
Ah, life as an American kid in the early 1970’s. Before the first Star Wars movie was released, Sid and Marty Krofft’s ‘The Land of the Lost’ was a pinnacle of special-effects artistry for my grade-school friends and I. This cheesy adventure series, featuring a family cast into a world ruled by dinosaurs and assorted other strange creatures was a key part of our Saturday morning routines. If you don’t remember the show, please enjoy solving the clues with a bit of research. If you do remember it, have fun with the walk down memory lane. In the unfathomable event that you don’t know each bit of required trivia about this dreg of TV history a quick Internet search should yield the information you need!
Fill in the following blanks with the answers (and corresponding numbers) to complete the actual cache coordinates of N 41° 09.(blanks 1 through 3) W 073° 24.(blanks 4 through 6).
Here we go:
The Marshall family; Dad, Will, and __1__, were out for a raft ride when they came across __2__, trapping them in the Land of the Lost. Once there, the daughter befriended a baby Brontosaurus as a pet, and she named it __3__. Grumpy the Tyrannosaur was easy to deal with compared to the __4__, a race of evil lizard-men that caused all types of trouble for our heroes, but the ape-like child __5__ was a friend of the family. The series ran for __6__ seasons, but we never did learn if the Marshalls ever escaped from the Land of the Lost..

The container is small, about the size of an over stuffed wallet, so small, slim trade items are best. I placed it with $10 cash for FTF, a log and pencil, a micro-Maglite, a nugget of Fool’s Gold, and a couple of other trinkets. Since this is near a heavily-traveled trail, please be sure to re-hide the container so it will not be stumbled upon by passers-by.
A WORD OF CAUTION: Be careful when you approach the cache - I’ve heard that Grumpy the T-Rex is in the area!
While in the Park, don't forget to look up other nearby caches!
