This cache has been archived.

IgnotusPeverell: Greetings. I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers for geocaches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from Flemish Giant about maintaining this cache which makes it appear they are either unwilling or unable to maintain this geocache. Cache maintenance includes: replacing broken or missing containers, replacing full or wet logs, updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing the needs maintenance attributes, enabling the listing, and more. Check out all of a geocache owner's responsibilities here. This cache is being archived, and removed from the active cache listings.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived."

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

Located just off of Piedra Lisa South Trail. Hike about 3/4 of a mile from the parking lot to a rocky area just off of trail. Altitude at cache is 7,142'.

From Tramway Blvd. Take FR 333 to FR 333D (dirt road) until you come to a parking area. This is a fee area, so get your pass ($3) just after leaving the pavement because there isn't a fee box in the parking lot.

From the lot, hike the road for about 1/2 mile to the trail head. From here you will make a short climb and then drop down in to a usually dry creek bed. Water can be running in wet years during the Spring months. Leave the creek bed and the trail flattens out almost imeadiately near a large evergreen tree and a small dry wash. From here head off trail towards the NW. When you find a rocky area with what looks like large slabs of rock turned on their sides, you will be very near the cache. From these rock slabs look around for another rock just off to the SE that looks almost like a bench and near that, under another rock is where the cache is. It is in a washed out spot under the large rock (kinda like where a rabbit might go) and has rocks around it to keep it from falling out during rain run off (we hope). We ask that you only leave rabbit type items in this cache, but NO RABBIT FEET!

Contents: White rabbit, carabiner, logbook and pencil, and hand warmers. Oh, and there is a bonus gift for the first finder! Container is about 4"x7"x12" green ammo box with yellow lettering.
