Dare to Go...Geocaching

What: Cache Bash 2006
When: Saturday, April 22 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Join Polk County Conservation to celebrate their 50th Anniversary on Saturday, April 22, 2006 and search for over 25 geocaches hidden in Jester Park.

Geocachers will be on hand to teach newcomers how to use a GPS and the ins and outs of geocaching. GPS units will be available for check out. Participants can come and go throughout the day. A catered lunch will be available for participants at the Jester Park Lodge.

This event is held in cooperation with Great Plains Geocaching and Iowa Geocachers Organization.

Camping Info:
Jester Park features 257 campsites spread across wooded hills and along the shore of Saylorville Lake. These include 52 electric sites and 205 primitive sites. Campground showerhouses open mid-April. Camping rates are $16 for electric sites and $11 for non-electric. Campers should set up camp on their site before registering. Sites are taken on a first come first serve basis but the ranger tells us there should be no problem getting sites at that time of year. Here is a map showing the campgrounds, shelter and lodge.
