Mystery Walls- touching time
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
In the heart of Bayers Lake Business Park are amazing Military structures proported to be two centuries old.
NOTE: FEB 25 2006, new coordinates
This cache can be a quick grab, or you can treat yourself to a modern day mystery. There are several structures in the woods that have yet to be identified. Archeologists suspect they are military in nature (c.1749), however, there is no documentation to date, to support this. The waypoints for some of the structures are as follows:
path to walls: N 44 38.600 W063 39.639
Wall N 44 38.543 W063 39.613
Steps N 44 38.564 W063 39.556
Foundation N 44 38.582 W063 39.611
The cache is placed to the left of of a path that leads to the Mystery walls. It is placed well back of any structures so as not to infringe on the site. The area around the walls, steps, and foundations is protected by the Special Places Act, so do not move or remove any material. Be respectful of ruins that may pre-date 1749. Gently touch time and let it touch you. The cache listing provides a few pics and info, but it is time for you just to go explore.
