Manadas
Foi uma dos primeiros núcleos populacionais de São Jorge sendo freguesia já em 1559 e, em 1568, era uma das seis paróquias que então existiam. Podemos vê-la de um miradoiro, meio escondido numa curva da estrada, que permite observar grande trecho da costa Sul, desde as Manadas até ao Morro dos Fachos nas Velas. Já no meio da freguesia, uma estrada conduz à Fajã das Almas, hoje com o acesso facilitado e um restaurante onde se pode degustar a boa comida que lá servem. Para além da igreja de Santa Bárbara que merece uma visita demorada, a freguesia das Manadas possui ainda as ermidas de Nossa Senhora do Guadalupe e de Santa Rita de Cássia. A principal industria desta freguesia é a de Lacticínios pelo que possui unidade fabril da sua cooperativa. Uma das organizações mais relevantes desta freguesia é a Casa do Povo das Manadas. Pertence a esta freguesia a povoação dos Terreiros fazendo fronteira com a Urzelina.
Fajã das Almas
Outrora conhecida por Fajã do Calhau, possui uma ermida, edificada pelo Barão do Ribeiro, onde a 7 de Setembro de 1890 o P.e Jorge de Sousa da Silveira celebrou a sua primeira missa nesta ermida.

Manadas
Was one of the first settlements in São Jorge it was already a parish in 1559 and in 1568, was one of the six parishes that then existed. We can overlook it from a sightseeing point, half hidden in a curve of the road, that allows us to observe a great stretch of the Southern coast of the island, from Manadas to Morro dos Fachos in Velas. In the middle of the parish, a road leads to Fajã das Almas, which has today a much easier access then before and a restaurant where we can savour the good meals served there. Besides the church of Santa Bárbara which deserves a long visit, the parish of Manadas has also got chapels of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe and Santa Rita de Cássia. The main industry of this parish is dairy industry, well represented by the local manufacturing cooperative. One of the most important organizations of the parish is the local Council of Manadas.
Fajã das Almas
Fajã das Almas, formerly known as Fajã do Calhau, has got a chapel, built by Barão do Ribeiro, where on the 7th of September 1890 the Priest Jorge de Sousa da Silveira celebrated his first mass in this chapel.
