Mr'D: Went back this morning to see if this was still in place but alas the log has indeed disintegrated and no sign of the cache [:(]
As one of the clues is also missing (typical council white-washing graffito just where you don't want them to!), I have decided to archive this to make way for The Ludgrove Trail III (Berkshire), placed nearby.
My thanks to all those who came.
Jon

Geocache Description:

The Ludgrove trail II

The original Ludgrove trail cache is now archived.

This is the replacement, now a straightforward multi around the Chapel Green and Ludgrove areas of Wokingham. The coordinates shown above are for the first waypoint.

The total distance is no more than 2 miles and so should be possible within half an hour or so.  Children should love this cache as it passes through the local equestrian centre and surrounding fields, where one can usually see a few horses.  In summer months, you might even be lucky to come across one of the local dressage, cross-country or gymkhana events.

In any case it's a lovely walk at any time of year.  Unfortunately it is not really suitable for pushchairs due to a few stiles, gates and a small bridge that needs to be crossed.  It can be muddy in wet periods so boots would be recommended.

The trail begins close to the railway bridge near the end of Luckley Road. Note, the lane between Luckley Road and Woods Farm (passing Ludgrove School) is private, and so not recommended for parking!

WP1 - N51 23.936 W0 50.219

What is the height restriction (in meters)?  = A.B

From here, continue walking east down Luckley Road, keeping the large house in the fork of the road to your right.

WP2 - N51 23.961 W0 50.086
Note the 4 digit number, = CDEF

Continuing down the road, you will pass the side of Lucas Hospital on your right (The only Grade I listed building in Wokingham) and come to the Wokingham Equestrian Centre.  The path takes the obvious route through here so don't worry, just follow your GPS to N51 24.091 W0 50.084, where you will see a footpath sign on your right. Go through the gate that will take you down the side of a field to the next waypoint.

WP3 - N51 24.168 W0 49.966
How many horizontal bars can you see? (careful here!) = G

Continue walking up to the next stile.

WP4 - N51 24.243 W0 49.849
Looking left toward the footbridge, which direction is recommended?  (Up = 1, Down = 2) = H

From the stile, turn right down the footpath, passing the pheasant farm on the left, until you reach the road.

WP5 - N51 24.014 W0 49.715
How many footpath sign pointers are there? =  J

A = B = C = D = E = F = G = H = J =

The final cache can be found at:

N51 CA.(G+E)(H-1)B.  W000 DF.GJE

The cache is a small airtight container with log, pencil and a few goodies.  Please be careful when replacing the container so that you don't accidentally make it unreachable! To return to your car, walk back up to the path and turn left, thus making a circular walk of around 1.5 miles.

I hope you enjoy this cache!
