Geocache Description:

"Drive in Cache" especially for motorcyclists (and others...)

(Giswil-Brienzwiler 19km)

Brünigpass has got an altitude of only 1008m. Eventhough it's an old and very important connecting route from northern Europe to southern Europe. The pass connects Giswil (north) with either Meringen or Brienzwiler in the south. So you can get from central Switzerland (Lucerne) to the Bernese Oberland with it's beautiful lakes and famous mountains such as Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Having a closer look you will find this pass as a piece of the once important european trade route to Italy: Brünig-Grimsel-Gries.
South of the pass you may choose direction to Meiringen where you get direct access to Susten(pass) and Grimsel(pass).
Choosing direction to Brienzwiler you'll get straight away to Interlaken an to Bern.
