How Geocaching Works

A fairly easy cache that lets you get closer to the nature of the Finger Lakes. Terrain is bumpy but level and an easy walk.
The cache is a regular ammo box. The cache is on private property with the owners consent. (PLEASE READ NOTE AT BOTTOM) There is a "pull off" that leads onto the property. Please pull in far enough so that others (i.e. the owners on a tractor etc...) may pass you if they arrive, but DO NOT DRIVE ANY FARTHER THAN NESSECARY to park. The terrain is bumpy and rutted, but any size vehicle should have clearance to pull in. Please get out and walk to the cache from the parking space. This area is beautiful all year, but especially from middle summer thru fall. This is a great place to take photos of the local landscape. THERE IS A HIGH MUGGLE FACTOR IN THE FALL, but most will know what is going on and you will not be bothered. One of the 3 Evil Monkeys might be amoung the crowd. The cache itself is fairly easy to find once you are in the general area.
NOTE: Since this is on private land with the owners permission PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE of your surroundings. Pictures are fine, but other than that please just go to the cache and back.
*******To the North of this cache site is a house,(this house is not on the cache site...just vineyards) Please DO NOT approach the cache from this direction. This is different property. Park in and walk through the vineyards.****
There is a camera provided. Please take your photo. When the camera is full we put the photos on the cache page. If you want to list your photo number in your log we can identify your picture when uploading.
