Bridge Trolls are a mean lot. They live under bridges or at
mountain passes. Here they block the road and demand a toll, which
they waste on useless projects in order to curry favor with other
Trolls (phylogenetically, they are related to politicians). You
have four choices: pay the toll, run away, fight or try to trick
them. If you fight or run away you stand a good chance of being
eaten. One can try tricking them, as they are not too bright and
love guessing games. This can be a dangerous tactic because Trolls
are good at riddles and spend a great deal of time thinking about
riddles and making up new ones.
This Riddle and Cache was devised by the Millburn Bridge Troll
and he is very proud of it. When you meet the Troll on visiting
stage 1 of this cache, it would be our recommendation to tell him
how clever he is and how much you admire him. This hopefully will
induce him into sharing the COORDINATES FOR STAGE 2 with you,
instead of making you the "plat du jour".
The Riddle: You are on your way to visit
your friend, who lives in a nearby town. You've picked up some
cakes at the bakery. Between Millburn and your friend's house, you
have to cross seven bridges, and as it goes in the land of make
believe and nail salons; there is a troll under every bridge! Each
Troll, quite rightly, insists that you pay a TROLL TOLL before you
can cross their bridge. You have to give them half of the cakes you
are carrying, but as they are kind Trolls, they each give you back
a single cake. How many cakes do you have to leave Millburn with to
make sure that you arrive at your friend's with exactly two
cakes?
Insert that number in the indicated spaces in the following
coordinates to find the Millburn Troll.
Coordinates: N 40 44.11(6+?), W 074 18.(1+?)35

The Millburn Troll will almost certainly give you the
coordinates for the Troll's Cache. Re-trace your steps back to
where you parked your car. It is approximately 225 feet up the hill
from the trail.
Beware......the Forest Troll guards the Troll's Cache, flanked
on each side by his henchman the Boulder Trolls!
