This cache is relatively close to the shore of Grasmere and can be reached by walks from Rydal, Grasmere Village, White Moss or even as part of a longer walk via Loughrigg.
Many years ago whilst walking with our daughter to 'feed the ducks', we would occasionally spot a white duck among large groups of mallard; all keen to get a crust! This may have been an albino duck, a different breed or perhaps it really was 'magic'. It became known as the magic duck and we would always look for it on walks at Millerground on Windermere and on Grasmere. On a recent visit to Grasmere (swimming to cool off from the heatwave!) we spotted the Magic Duck. I took a photo and immediately thought of setting up a cache nearby. If anyone spots the Magic Duck whilst visiting the site, then I would appreciate a photo. Good luck. Please note that the lake shore can be 'muggle central' most of the year so please make sure that the cache is well hidden before you leave - Thank you
