V lednu 1945 seskocili v lesich u Hermance tri ceskoslovensti parasutiste. Patrili k jednotkam bojujicim v sovetske armade a dostali za ukol pripojit se k partyzanskym oddilum nekde u Deviti skal. U Brna vsak jejich letadlo zacali pronasledovat Nemci, a zahnali je až nad Ceskou Kanadu. Parasutiste neznali svou presnou polohu, ale behem noci se jim podarilo znovu se sejit a vysli z lesu u obce Hermanec. Pres den pozorovali vesnici z remizku a za soumraku se odvazili do trochu stranou leziciho statku (c.p. 31), kde pozadali o pomoc. Prozradili, kdo jsou, a jako dukaz ukazali jeden padak (druhe dva zakopali nekde v lese). Meli velke stesti, jen o par kilometru jizneji by uz narazili na nemeckou vesnici. Rodina Tumovych je navzdory nebezpeci na nekolik dni schovala, a pak je jeste vybavila jidlem a oblecenim na cestu k Deviti skalam. Jeste v 90.letech pouzivali v Hermanci zmineny padak na prikryvani zrni.

In January 1945, three Czechoslovak parachutists landed in the woods near Hermanec. They were members of the Soviet army and they were assigned to join the partisan sections near Devet skal (approx. 80km to the northeast). However, the Germans spotted their plane somewhere near Brno and they chased it over “Czech Canada”. The parachutists did not know their whereabouts, but they managed to meet again during the night and they came out of the woods near the village Hermanec. They watched the village from a nearby grove and at dusk they came to a remote farm (house no. 31) and asked for help. They revealed who they were and they showed a parachute as a proof. They were very lucky, for they would have come to a German settled village only few kilometers souther. The Tuma family hid them, although they ran a great risk doing so, and later gave them supplies for their journey to Devet skal. The above mentioned parachute was still used in Hermanec for some field work until 1990’s.
