This is a cache placed for your caching pleasure, by the Maine
ORCA's
**THIS CACHE IS RATED WITH A TERRAIN 4 FOR A REASON. A 4X4 VEHICLE
WITH GOOD GROUND CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO DO THIS CACHE. THERE ARE
LOTS OF ROUGH SPOTS IN THE ROAD, A FEW WASHOUTS AND LOTS OF OILPAN
HUNGRY ROCKS. DO NOT TAKE THIS WARNING LIGHTLY, IF YOU GET STUCK
HERE, IT IS A LONG WALK TO ANYWHERE.** There are also a few open
areas near the begining of the road. They are good places to park
if you plan to go by foot.
The entrance to the road is at N 45* 46.618 W 068* 53.479
At N 45*46.160 W 068* 56.022 TURN RIGHT going straight will take
you to Omaha Beach (There is a cache at Omaha Beach GCQ50C)
At N 45* 46.619 W 068* 56.944 You will be at Little Omaha Beach, go
right and continue onwards. You will pass a boat launch and then
Wheelbarrow Pitch. After Wheelbarrow Pitch the cache is only a mile
away!
You can park within feet of the cache! I prefer to back into the
open area across the road from the cache.
The drive in is about 4.5 miles, it will take about 20 to 30
minutes to drive in depending on your driving abilities and road
conditions. (ROAD CONDITIONS CAN AND WILL VARY THROUGHOUT THE
YEAR)
**The Coords may be more towards the parking area, the tree cover
was playing tricks on us (but we averaged 15 coords on two
different days and those are the coords we came up with) but even
if you're at the parking spot, you're still less than 15' from the
cache.
