Cache Details

This cache was originally hidden as part of the One Degree of Separation Geocaching Project, which sought to unite the entire geocaching continuum together at one point using the "Small World Theory". It was Minnesota's very first ODS cache, and was brought back here from Milwaukee by pfalstad and I in 2006. But alas, all good things must come to an end, and I've converted it to a regular cache so that it's legacy may live on...if you're interested, you can still read about the project here.

Location, Parking, and Access

This cache is located in a Hopkins city park, just off of Nine Mile Cove. Free and legal parking is available at a small lot, located at N 44° 54.618 W 093° 24.217 - it's a straight shot from the adjacent trailhead there directly to the cache location. Along the way, you will be serenaded by the pleasant sounds of nature, along with a myriad of never-ending high-speed traffic noise from Highway 169.

The cache has been upgraded from the old 35mm film cannister to a nice large Lock 'n Lock box. During the spring and summer, if you walk just past the cache and loop back along the stream, you'll find a lil' path right to the cache location...it's easier than bushwhacking straight in from the trail. The location is not super winter friendly, but the cache is big enough and the search area is small enough that this cache should be accessible all year 'round.
