Everyone is welcome to
come and enjoy the great Northern Michigan winter outdoors.
It's a chance to swap geocaching stories around the campfire,
eat some great food, and do some geocaching in the
snow!
Time: 9:30
AM – 3:30 PM
Date: Saturday, January 20, 2007
Place: SE of Traverse City, follow your GPSr to the
coordinates above.
Lunch: 1:00 PM
Cost: FREE! - But donations would be appreciated to help
defray costs.
Door Prize Drawing: 2:30 PM
Bring your chairs,
snowshoes, a bundle of wood for the fire**, and all
your geocaching stories. Oh yeah, don't forget your GPSr and extra
batteries. Be sure to dress for the weather... cold and snowy. We
could have single digit temps and heavy snow, or bright sunny skies
all day.
The "Dead Animal Hat Club" will be in
attendance so if you have a dead animal hat... wear it! Creativity
welcome!
Actually, the coordinates
above are for the trailhead parking lot of the Muncie Lakes Pathway
located in the Pere Marquette State Forest, the same location as
the previous year's event. There will be several new caches placed
within snow shoeing distance in time for event day, and several
more already in place within a short driving distance. There is a
primitive outhouse at the parking lot, but NO running water or
indoor heat!
Please be aware,
there is a cross-country ski trail in the area, when seeking out
the caches, DO NOT walk on the trail or allow your dog to walk on
the trail!!!
The lunch menu will include
my world famous chili, hot french fries, fresh home made bread, hot
dogs, chips, cookies, and hot chocolate. All food will be provided
again this year but to help cover the cost, a $3.00 per person
donation would be appreciated. If you would like to bring something
for the food table, please contact me.
The door
prize drawing will be held promptly at 2:30 PM, you must be present
to win. Donations for the prize table are
welcome!.

Be sure to spread the word
about the TC Winter Convergence. Hope to see you all there
and be sure to put this cache on your watch list!

** - Because of the firewood
movement quarantine to prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash
Borer, it is advised to buy a bundle of firewood
locally.
