A quick and easy stop along the banks of the Mississippi River!
This cache is located in East Bridge Park, a cute lil' green patch in the lovely City of Monticello. The park features well-groomed terraced landscaping and flowerbeds, a nice view of the Mississippi River, and a popular sledding hill during the winter. There used to be another cache here, one of my first finds long ago - but it was archived in October 2004, so I figured it's about time to stash another!
Location, Parking, and Access
Free parking is available at the East Bridge Park main parking lot, at the intersection of Cedar Street and River Street East. Or if you prefer, you can park at West Bridge Park, grab the cache there, and talk a short but rather nice .16 mile walk to this one along the river.
You'll have to leave the path to access the cache, but once you do you'll see the hiding spot right away. There's a bit of natural cover around to help you be discrete, but please be mindful of the muggles and the house nearby...and watch out for the thorn bush, you definitely want to go around it to access the cache. You're looking for a mostly winter-friendly peanut-butter sized Lock 'n Lock container, stuffed to the brim with small toys and trinkets, hand-selected by the 'Noles kidlets from their own personal collection. As always, have fun and happy hunting!
