Second time around for this trail - original cache ended up on
private property after some new development came along.
Fortunately, a part of this trail remains open and is still a nice
hike with some cool views of the water.
This cache takes you to the Falmouth side of the Presumpscot River.
Great views of the falls along the hike.
This is the "sister" cache to my Presumpscot River cache
(GCK60B) found on the Portland side of the river. This trail is
also part of the Portland Trails system. Parking is available at
the above coordinates where you will also need to find the clue to
the final cache. Once found, you will be on a 1/2 mile hike or so
round trip. The terrain on this side of the river is more difficult
than the other side. The trail is less well maintained and goes up
and down and over many fallen trees. Parts are muddy and wet. Stay
on trail and watch for "private property" signs. Cache is a
well-hidden paintball tube. The container includes original
logbook, as well as a variety of fun, but smaller items. You will
probably have to empty out the tube to get at the goodies. Have
fun, but watch your step and happy 'caching!
