The Devil's Highway
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The cache is located along part of the existing Roman Road known as 'The Devil's Highway' which originally ran from the Amphitheatre in Silchester to London. The cache can be accessed either by foot, bikes or car as it is along a newly surfaced byway making it ideal for all year access.
The cache is an ammo box with trading items suitable for all ages. Various sections of 'The Devil's Highway' still exist today as footpaths, byways and roads! all of which can still be used today on foot. Since the cache is located close to the national cycle route 23 it can be visited on bikes as part of a longer ride.
If you decide to drive along the byway by car please note that turning is very difficult and you may need to drive along its length to get back onto the road.
