Located at an all season rest area on Yellowhead Hwy 5 North of Clearwater, BC
In the 1860s Western Union Telegraph company was planning an over land telegraph route from the USA to Europe through BC, Alaska and Russia. The 1866 successful laying of the Trans Atlantic cable killed the project. Wire caches were laid out along the route for the anticipated work but were abandoned in place. This was one of those sites. The history is posted in the rest area.
Cache is an ammo can. When hidden contained a log book and pencil with sharpener; new pliars; toy truck; 10 meter (33 ft tape measure);compact mirror; pen; some pins; a woven bouncy ball and geocache info sheet.
FTF gift.
