Geocache Description:

In the plantation east of the earlier and now drained  Korup lake - and right west of Tirstrup Lufthavn - an idyllic and well preserved dolmen lies.
It was put up for nearly 5.400 years ago by the first farmers from the farmer Stone Age's so-called tragtbaegerkultur as burial place for the tribal society's leading generations.  It's probably later reused quite a few times, this is usually the case with the Stone Age's dolme graves.
The dolmen is however never examined through archaeological excavations, and there are no known founds from it
The forest, covering Denmark through the antiquity, had in the 18th century almost disappeared because of intensive exploitation, and therefore sand drift began seriously  and devastated large parts of the country.  It's the background for the present Tåstrup Fællesskov (communityforrest) being plantet in beginning of previous century, and we can rightly suppose, that there under the sand from the sand drift hide quite a few extraordinarily well preserved antiquity installations.
That has appeared for example at quite a few settlement excavations in corresponding sand drift areas on Norddjursland, Djurslands Museum has completed in the last decades.
In the forest round the beautiful dolme, quite a few strange stonesettings lie.  They were built about 1835 as park in the recently established forest of sand drift commissioner Martens.
It was his idea to show the place for the king, but that was a success he never acomblised. The  many stone circles gradually grew to, but thanks to a big effort by local strength more are now again uncovered.
