Quick find.

Scott family found bench mark. Could not find Batman.

Easy find. Seen it when we rode up on our motorcycles with the Fiddy Crew.

quick find

Found this reference mark as described. A great BM challenge would be to recover the main marker assoicated with this one, AA1033. If I had more time and my recovery equipment with me..... Also found the nearby cache.

The same as everyone else, I "found" this one while searching for a cache. I guess nothing special, but at least a log. I would include a picture, but it still looks and is in the same condition as all the other posted pics.

My first time to log a benchmark. Found this one while geocaching near the bat tower.

Found it while looking for a cache and on business in the Key's. This is an interesting place. I have had a fascination with bathouses; on a smaller scale, of course.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • This Tidal Bench Mark is designated as VM 7047 by the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
