We had found a Keith & Schnars Geodetic Control FK06 LB 3102, 1994 on 4/17/12 and so on 4/25/2012 we went back to get picture of this disc and on our return we spotted the AA0296 BenchMark and also got picture of that. Great Find for us.

Found this after visiting pigeon key and walking back...great view!

Found in good condition.

With my mom and dad (AstroD-Team) finding marks in the Keys! Had too keep our eyes open for this one as the coords are off. But it's there and the walk to it was awesome!

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
