Got caught on the pier. No time for pictures.

Found as described.

Logged benchmark while at the nearby virtual cache.

Found this one as I was walking back from the virtual at the end. I should have looked for more, because I didn't know I could have picked up a few more on the pier as well.

On my stroll here came past this one.

Found while walking out on to White Street Pier.
Team Geo Treker

Nice place for vistors to see several benchmarks in just a few hundred feet. They were prepping today for fireworks for July 4, so I didn't get to see them all out here.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • This Tidal Bench Mark is designated as VM 9626 by the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
