I was up for the Denton Airshow and the public was allowed into the area of this particular benchmark. I comber the area pretty thoroughly, and all I saw was concrete. But maybe I'm not sure what I am looking for, hesitate to call it a DNF, just a maybe DNF.

This is now within a new fence on the Denton Airport, so please check in with the airport manager. Even small airports have been effected by 911. You can see the marker sign from the drive that takes you to a nice vintage twin engine plane. The benchmark, is in excellent shape and was not covered by dirt or vegitation. ( I work there, so access wasn't a problem. )

Control Text

  • This mark is at Denton Muni (DTO) Airport (DTO)
  • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in February 1996.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • GPS derived orthometric heights for airport stations designated as PACS or SACS are published to 2 decimal places. This maintains centimeter relative accuracy between the PACS and SACS. It does not indicate centimeter accuracy relative to other marks which are part of the NAVD 88 network.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
