I wanted to find a few today before the rain hit. This one had been buried in gravel and mulch (and not for the first time, it seems).

The green tub between the gravel is quite easy to find. We have to dig in to find the disk.

The Green PVC sleeve made this one a snap. It had quite a bit of gravel burying the disk, from snow plowing i suppose. the disk seems to be a little below grade inside sleeve. Description seem accurate.

This is one of the round smaller monumnets that seemed popular in Princeton in the 20's. Note this one is a few inches below grade.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in September 1996.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
