TO REACH THE MARK FROM THE JUNCTION OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 52 AND TRUNK HIGHWAY 19 AT THE WEST EDGE OF CANNON FALLS, GO WEST FOR 0.15 MILE (0.24 KM) ALONG TRUNK HIGHWAY 19 TO A ROAD RIGHT, TURN RIGHT AND GO NORTH FOR 0.15 MILE (0.24 KM) TO A T JUNCTION, TURN RIGHT AND GO EAST AND NORTH FOR 0.05 MILE (0.08 KM) TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT. RECOVERY NOTE BY DAKOTA COUNTY MINNESOTA 1996 (RGS) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 0.6 MI (1.0 KM) NW OF THE CITY OF CANNON FALLS IN THE NE 1/4 OF SECTION 13, T112N, R18W. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JCT OF TH 52 AND TH 19, GO NW FOR 0.5 MI (0.8 KM) ALONG TH 52 TO THE STATION ON THE LEFT. THE STATION IS A STANDARD ALUMINUM DISK WITH MAGNET ATTACHED TO THE TOP OF A 3/4 INCH BY 19 FT (5.8 M) ALUMINUM ROD DRIVEN TO SUBSTANTIAL RESISTANCE. THE STATION IS 100 FT (30.5 M) WSW OF THE CENTER OF THE SOUTHBOUND LANE OF TH 52 AT MP 98.25, 61 FT (18.6 M) ENE OF A GRAVEL RD, 106 FT (32.3 M) EAST OF A FENCE CORNER, 32 FT (9.8 M) NORTH OF A R/W POST, 27.1 FT (8.3 M) NNW OF REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 1, 14.6 FT (4.5 M) ENE OF REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 2, AND 3.8 FT (1.2 M) SSE OF A WIT POST. Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in January 1997. No horizontal observational check was made to the station.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
