YAY!!! I am THRILLED to finally have gotten this one! I've driven past it a couple dozen times in the last few months, always fretting that there is nowhere to stop on the shoulder to see if it's there. The description says it can only be reached from the 836. I finally decided I couldn't stand it any longer and had to find out if I could get to it from the underpass. Unbelievably, the entire area is fenced, but there was a wide open gate right where I needed it! I was able to get photos and coords, and back to my truck in 5 minutes! YAHOO! After all that time spent fretting about it, I am determined not to be so easily duped again. There is ALWAYS more than one way in!

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in May 1991.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
