Walked over for these after a cache. Found 3 marks actually on the bridge but only two are listed on geocaching

I had just grabbed GC2G3QR and decided to check out all these benchmarks on this bridge! The mark is exactly as described by previous finders as as in the photo!

Recovered in good condition at N 26° 20.315 W 080° 04.380.

ABOUT 1.8 MILES NORTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY A 1 A FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 810 AT DEERFIELD BEACH, ABOUT 1.1 MILES NORTH OF THE PALM BEACH-BROWARD COUNTY LINE, SET ON THE TOP OF THE SOUTHEAST CONCRETE BANNISTER OF THE HIGHWAY BRIDGE OVER BOCA RATON INLET, 18.5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 8 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST END OF THE BANNISTER AND 3 FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE HIGHWAY.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
